LookOwt ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Glodux Digital Labs Inc. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile details you provide when creating an account.
• Location Data: With your permission, we collect real-time and background location data to power safety features such as location sharing within your Safety Circle, geofence alerts, check-in monitoring, and emergency SOS.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Service, including features used, timestamps, and app performance data.
• Contacts: With your permission, we may access your contacts to help you invite people to your Safety Circle.
• Audio Data: With your permission, during an active SOS emergency, we may record audio to provide context for emergency responders and your Safety Circle members.
• User-Generated Content: Security tips, incident reports, comments, votes, and other content you submit through the Service.
• Payment Information: Subscription and transaction details processed through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or third-party payment providers. We do not directly store your credit card or bank account numbers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Enable safety features including real-time location sharing, emergency SOS alerts, geofence notifications, and check-in monitoring.
• Process subscription payments and manage your account status.
• Send you important notifications, alerts, and service-related communications via push notifications, email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
• Facilitate community safety through security tip broadcasting and incident alerts in your area.
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the user experience.
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or security threats.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

• With Your Safety Circle: Location, status, and emergency information is shared with people you explicitly add to your Safety Circle.
• Community Features: Security tips and incident reports you post may be visible to other users in your area, based on the broadcast level (town, local government area, state, or country). Anonymous posting is available.
• Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party providers who assist in operating the Service (see Section 12 below). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LookOwt, our users, or the public.
• Emergency Services: In an emergency situation (such as an active SOS event), your location and relevant information may be shared with your Safety Circle members and, where applicable, local emergency contacts.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will:

• Permanently delete your personal profile data, location history, Safety Circle connections, geofences, SOS records, and notification history.
• Anonymize any security tips or comments you have posted (the content is preserved for community safety, but your identity is removed).
• Complete the deletion process promptly upon confirmation.

Where retention is required by law, we will retain only the minimum necessary data for the required period.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL.
• Encrypted storage of sensitive credentials and API keys.
• Secure authentication using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) with token refresh mechanisms.
• Role-based access controls for administrative functions.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access and Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account directly from within the app, which will permanently remove your personal data and anonymize your community contributions.
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (e.g., disable location sharing in your device settings).
• Opt-Out: Opt out of promotional communications by following the unsubscribe link in our emails.

7. Children's Privacy

LookOwt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at info@lookowt.app and we will promptly delete it.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where our servers are hosted. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

10. Background Location Usage

LookOwt collects location data in the background to enable critical safety features, even when the app is closed or not in use. Specifically, background location is used for:

• Emergency SOS: Continuously sharing your location with your Safety Circle during an active SOS event so they can locate and assist you.
• Geofence Monitoring: Alerting your Safety Circle when you enter or leave designated safe zones or areas of concern.
• Check-In Monitoring: Enabling scheduled check-ins that verify your safety at intervals you define.

You can control background location access at any time through your device settings. Disabling background location will limit the functionality of these safety features.

11. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

LookOwt offers a Premium subscription with enhanced features. Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. We receive transaction confirmation from these platforms but do not directly process or store payment card details.
